Sheila Boles honored on NCHSAA Day

Former Hoggard High School director of athletics Sheila Boles was honored on the football field at the half of the UNC-Rutgers game in Chapel Hill. Boles will officially be inducted into the NCHSAA Hall of Fame in the spring.

CFCC Memorial event draws hundreds to honor and celebrate lives lost on 9/11

video Ceremonies were held all across our county today to remember what happened ten years ago. Hundreds in our area came together to honor and celebrate the lives lost on that day in 2001. Cape Fear Community College held a memorial event at their North Campus. The service marked the events of that tragic day in real time.

Bank of America will cut 30,000 jobs

Bank of America says it will cut about 30,000 jobs over the next few years in a bid to save $5 billion per year. The troubled bank says it expects many of the cuts will come through attrition and eliminating unfilled positions.

Duke sued over cancer trials
