Berger served with protective order from ex-girlfriend, due in court next week

New Hanover County Sheriff's deputies served New Hanover County Commissioner Brian Berger with a protective order a short time after his Thursday evening news conference. A Sheriff's Office spokesman says the 10-day protective order was filed by Berger's ex-girlfriend Heather Blaylock.

US authorities are scrambling to sort through information that the CIA developed in the past 24 hours indicating that at least three individuals entered the US in August by air with the intent to launch a vehicle-borne attack against Washington, DC, or New York around the anniversary of 9/11, according to intelligence officials.
