Even Hurricane Irene cannot stop another chapter in the strange story of a teen with ties to former state Sen. R.C. Soles. Law enforcement in Columbus County are on the hunt for Allen "Frog" Strickland. Yesterday the 19-year-old cut off his GPS bracelet, but that's just the beginning.

Public hearings scheduled on Titan draft air permit

Holden Beach declares mandatory evacuation

videoHolden Beach has declared a mandatory evacuation. Everyone needs to be off the island by 6 p.m. today, according to a news release from Mayor Alan Holden. The bridge is subject to being closed sooner if winds are sustained at 45 mph or higher.
