Team members have organized an online petition in hopes of saving their up-and-coming team.

A Postal Service truck caught fire last night while driving to a mail processing facility with mail from Leland.

Last week he was a police officer. Today he's out of a job and has been in and out of jail. A former Northwest police officer was charged in connection to an ongoing prostitution investigation in another Brunswick County town.

Committee recommends cutting five UNCW sports programs

A committee commissioned by UNCW's chancellor to study the sustainability and vitality of the school's 19 sports programs has recommend the university cut five of the teams.

Some sports programs at UNCW may be shutting down in the near future if UNCW chancellor Gary Miller follows the recommendations of a UNCW committee. On Wednesday one local high school soccer team lost in the state playoffs. One won. We were there for both.
