A Wilmington man who was in a horrible motorcycle accident on Carolina Beach Road last year and wasn't expected to live through that first night. It's been four months, and miraculously, he's doing just very well.
On October 10, David Tollefson was leaving a motorcycle contest when a SUV pulled out in front of him. Tollefson received 30 units of blood, but doctors didn't expect him to survive. He suffered pneumonia, lung and kidney failure, a broken leg and needed a tracheotomy to breathe.
He's now able to walk with a cane. He says the accident happened for a reason.
"There's a reason, you know?" Tollefson said. "I'm not really a religious person, but there's supposed to be something that I should be doing, I guess. I don't know. It'll come."
Tollefson says some of the best therapy for him has been getting back on his bike. He isn't back at work yet, but he's recovering much faster than expected.

When I saw the newscast last
When I saw the newscast last night I felt a kindred spirit with you and had to let you know somehow, someway. I too almost died in a wreck on October 6. My injuries weren't as severe but they were enough to change me forever. I will pray for you and your continued healing. God has a plan for you and spared you for a reason. I pray that you will discover it and walk in it. Be blessed!!

You have a wonderful and positive way
of thinking. It will get you through the
worst of times.
There is a God and he can do wonderful
things if you give him the chance.
Keep up working on your faith.

"Accident victim recovering from deadly crash"
Did someone die in this crash or is the headline wrong?
It is close
Saturday night, a motorcycle accident happened in Wilmington , NC that put one man’s life in critical condition. According to police, David Tollefson, 48, was driving along Carolina Beach Road towards Saint Andrews drive when all of a sudden a Blue Durango pulled out in front of him. Tollefson tried to avoid the collision, swerved but slid into the SUV instead. The man was immediately sent to the hospital as he sustained serious injuries. Hospital claims that he was still listed in critical condition 24 hours after the accident. Tishko Johnson, 26, driver of the Durango who was clearly at fault was not injured at all.
So it was a potentially deadly crash but it wasn't a deadly crash.
When you make a statement
When you make a statement that it was a " deadly crash" that means someone died. All accidents have a potential of someone dying but you do not say that in every headline. Another case of poor journalism.
I'm agreeing with you
I'm in agreement with you, nobody died so it wasn't a deadly crash.
