The Fifth Annual Reef - Sweetwater Surf Contest got underway at Wrightsville Beach Friday afternoon. The Pro-Am event is one contest surfers look forward to up and down the east coast. Everyone from pros to local amateurs enjoyed the sunny conditions and seemed “stoked” to have some good waves. “It's always just a fun weekend. There are always waves and everybody just has a great time. It's crazy down here, it is good times,” said pro surfer Asher Nolan. The contest continues throughout the weekend behind Sweetwater Surf Shop. Pros are competing for their share of the $20,000 prize.
