Anonymous donor again gives cool gift to students in hot job

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) -- The dog days of summer are upon us. Some heating and air conditioning students at Cape Fear Community College are ready to help keep things cool.

An anonymous donor awarded three students with $1,000 worth of tools and four others with $500 worth. All seven students are finishing up the year-long HVAC program. They say they are ready to put those tools to use.

"I was like, 'Man, I need to find something I can do regardless of the economy, something always in demand,' and heating and air really fits that mold," said tool recipient Jeremy Waters. "And so I started in the fall. It is a one-year program. We're at the home stretch. Just one week left. Really excited to be able to get out there and work full time."

The anonymous donor awarded tools to CFCC students at the end of last year's program as well.
