Another anonymous tip led Wilmington vice and narcotics detectives to make another drug bust over the weekend. This one happened at 214 South 11th Street. Inside the home police arrested Ka-Mesha Powell, Regina Brown and Shamon Brown.

Detectives found about 45 grams of crack cocaine, as well as marijuana and drug paraphernalia. Children were also in the home, so DSS was notified.

The three people arrested face numerous charges. They are each in jail under $100,000 bond.

I AM SO TIRED OF PEOPLE

I AM SO TIRED OF PEOPLE SAYING THAT BLACK PEOPLE ARE ALWAYS GETTING IN TROUBLE. I AM A BLACK FEMALE AND HAVE HAD SEVERAL FAMILY MEMBERS GO TO JAIL/PRISON FOR SEVERAL REASONS. I DO UNDERSTAND SOMETIMES THAT PEOPLE HAVE TO DO WHAT IT TAKES TO MAKE IT. SEVERAL BLACK PEOPLE DO LIVE A HARD LIFE AND EXPERIENCE HARD TIMES. I'M NOT SAYING THAT IT IS RIGHT FOR THEM TO GO AND SELL DRUGS. I AM NOT TRYING TO MAKE AN EXCUSE FOR THEM. BUT SOME OF YOU PEOPLE SHOULDN'T SPEAK ON THESE TYPES OF SITUATIONS IF U HAVE NEVER BEEN THROUGH HARD TIMES. I'M NOT RACIST AT ALL, SEVERAL OF MY BEST FRIENDS ARE WHITE. BUT MOST WHITE PEOPLE HAVE IT EASIER THAN WHITE PEOPLE. MORE WHITE PEOPLE GO TO COLLEGE, GET GOOD JOBS, HAVE LESS CRIMINAL BACKGROUNDS AND FAMILIES HAVE MORE MONEY. SOMETIMES SOME BLACK MEN DON'T FINISH SCHOOL AND THEY HAVE A FAMILY TO TAKE CARE OF SO THEY ARE WILLING TO DO WHAT IT TAKES TO TAKE CARE OF THEIR FAMILY. I DO THINK THAT THEY SHOULD BE PUNISHED, DON'T GET ME WRONG. BUT I THINK YOU PEOPLE SHOULD STOP JUDGING PEOPLE ESPECIALLY IF YOU'VE NEVER BEEN IN A SITUATION SUCH AS THE ONE THEY ARE IN. IN THIS PARTICULAR STORY, I THINK IT IS VERY SAD THAT A CHILD WAS THERE AND I THINK THAT THEY SHOULD ALL BE PUNISHED FOR THAT. I FEEL BAD FOR THE CHILD THAT WAS INVOLVED AND I HOPE THAT HE/SHE IS IN A SAFE ENVIRONMENT NOW. BUT U ### THAT DON'T KNOW WHAT IT IS LIKE TO LIVE A ROUGH LIFE SHOULD SHUT UP. AND BLACK PEOPLE ARE THE MAJORITY OF DRUG DEALERS, HOWEVER, THERE ARE SEVERAL WHITE, HISPANIC DRUG DEALERS AS WELL. I AGREE WITH THE FORMER OFFICER, IT IS 2010 AND RACISM SHOULDN'T EXIST ANYMORE.

It's about choices and what

It's about choices and what your environment instills in you. I am white, raised by a single mother along with my brother and sister after my father took off. I watched my mom work two jobs to provide for us. My senior year I got a job at the local Bo Jangles to pay for my year book, cap & gown, etc. I did not watch my out of work mom sit on our couch in public housing while aspiring to be a gansta slingin crack to buy gold chains. I went in the military over college to get my education since we could not afford it (refer to single mom with two jobs above).

So f-you and your hard life and what you got to do. Everyone has the opportunity to make the choices in life that got them where they are. I made mine and here I am. So why should I pay for your housing, cell phones and health insurance?

No more..........

No excuse!

What a load of crap! That is a pathetic excuse! Many, many people have known hard times and did not allow it to prevent them from succeeding. I don't care what color they are, people are responsible for their own failures. Anyone who has a child or drops out of school, sells drugs is CHOOSING to fail!
Get off this "poor pitiful us" crap and do something positive to change your situation. Until people do start to take responsibility for their own problems then they will continue to live a life of misery.

white people

This may come as a real shocker, but there are MANY white people who HAVE grown up POOR! I get so sick and tired of hearing that white people do not know what it is to be poor. I grew up dirt poor and know others who did too, but I NEVER thought about stealing or expecting others to take care of me. I went to work in tobacco when I was 11 years old. We worked from sunup to sundown. I grew up in a home with no indoor plumbing or running water. There were gaps so big in our roof, you could see daylight thru them. Selling drugs or stealing has nothing to do with growing up poor. I'm tired of it being used as an excuse for bad character. I know both black and white poor people who have pride and dignity. They WORK to provide for their families. The difference is, their life is not consumed in materialism. They have a greater appreciation for what they have because they earned it with the sweat of their labor and they have respect for themselves and others. Money can't buy honesty or good character or a work ethic.

lol..

I think it is really simple minded for people to sit around and judge another human being without being in their shoes. So much to cover on this subject, I doubt it would even fit here... How you are brought up is a major part of who you are, unless you are put in a situation where you HAVE to sell drugs..you'll NEVER know what it's like..so your opinion does not even count. I remember a time when it was illegal just to be black in this country so that shows you how much meaning our laws have. What about prohibition? Remember alcohol? Tobacco? when that was in the same place as marijuana and cocaine?? That was when you had your mobsters and gangsters and more "whites" involved in crime. Now you have empires built off of the period in which you disobeyed prohibition laws and you want to pass judgement? Who allowed the drug trade in the first place? Who financed overseas gun trades?? No, not blacks. WHITES... Matter of fact, a study showed that illegal money is the backbone of Americas economy..what happens when we all get off drugs?? Everything is always black and white for people who live closed off from the real world...

???

Is it just me or has anyone else noticed that most of the people that are getting busted are African Americans ? Seriously folks, this is not a joke and a lot of them have children involved. It is pathetic.

I have noticed

They don't want to work and it's easy money, and now some lawyer will argue they sold drugs because they had a bad childhood or some other crap like that. Who knows they might even blame it on the fact their ancestors were slaves. All they have are excuses amd none of them are valid. Lock them up, toss the key and forget about them. If they want to live like animals then put them in a cage like animals. It's really no great loss to the world.

I am Embarrassed

As a white middle aged male, I am truly embarrassed by your ignorant and hateful words. As a prior law enforcement officer, you are wrong. The drug dealers who get arrested will vary in race and gender depending on what part of the city, county, state, or country they are from. It generally has nothing to do with race, it is location. You ought to be ashamed of yourself. With people like you around, it is hard to ever get past the stereo typing that goes on. It is 2010 not 1810. Bigot!!!!!!!!! Truly, the part of this story that bothers me most are the children in the home. That is what is sad!

I noticed most of the people

I noticed most of the people getting busted are breaking the law. They can go see Michael Jackson's dermatologist or find legal ways to make money.
