Fire crews are on high alert in Pender County Thursday night after another blaze in Hampstead.
Firefighters responded to the call just before eight Wednesday night, in the same area of Hampstead that burned last week.

A Pender County woman is in jail, accused of having sex with a 15-year-old boy. Thirty-five-year-old Emily Willis turned herself in to the Pender County Sheriff's Office Thursday.

A Leland man is in critical condition after being shot by Brunswick County deputies. It happened Wednesday night around 11:30 off Maco Road. Lyle baroski has heard gunshots coming from George Cooper's trailer in the past. When he heard Tuesday night's argument grow worse, he called 911.
