UNCW #1 Seed As Seahawks And Brooks Field Ready For CAA Championships

The pairings are set for the 2008 CAA Baseball Championship, which will be held May 21-24 at Brooks Field in Wilmington, N.C. The action begins at Noon on Wednesday as #2 seed James Madison (34-17, 20-9 in CAA) takes on #5 Old Dominion (25-25, 14-14 in CAA). At 3:30 p.m., #3 George Mason (28-23, 18-10 in CAA) faces #4 William & Mary (35-19, 16-13 in CAA). Capping the tournament’s opening day will be #1 UNC Wilmington (41-13-1, 25-4-1 in CAA) against #6 Towson (28-26, 14-16) at 7 p.m.

Wilmington Hammerheads Earn First Points Of Season, Tie Harrisburg City Islanders

Sitting at 0-3, Wilmington Hammerheads coach David Irving said, "With the next two on the road, it was important we didn't lose." While they couldn't tally their first win of the season, they did play to a 1-1 tie and earned their first point of the 2008 USL-2 Season.

The Port City Chargers improved to 2-0 on Saturday night by shutting out the Raleigh Knights 28 – 0. After a 12-6 win in the season opener, the Chargers dominated both sides of the ball against the Knights.
