Lanes on the Cape Fear Memorial Bridge were back open Monday evening after being shut down as planned this morning. Crews took away lane closure signs around 3 p.m.

At the construction kickoff for the new hospital today, the name Brunswick Novant Medical Center was also revealed.
There are already some signs of construction on the $107,000,000 facility, which is about three miles from the current hospital on Highway 17.

Using rain gardens to filter storm water runoff is one way Gregory Elementary students are helping restore polluted Burnt Mill Creek.
They planted a rain garden in front of the school to prevent flooding, and allow runoff to pass through the ground soil.
