As Memorial Day has came to an end and the scorching sun raises the temperature, people head for their swimming pools and other open water, such as rivers, lakes and dams, to cool down, and the local emergency medical services (EMS) prepares for any eventuality. In an attempt to prevent accidents, Eastern Carolina's EMS Association is educating the public about water-related safety precautions.
