Hoggard's Kaitlin Burns Named Tennis High School All-American

Kaitlin Burns is just finishing her junior year at Hoggard. She has won the NC 4A state singles title twice, 2006 and 2007, and was recognized for her accomplishments by being named a High School All American. Only 40 girls across America were bestowed this honor. Burns helped lead the Vikings to a fantastic season, and capped it individually by defending her individual singles title.

Mike Easley today warned citizens across the state to take the necessary precautions to protect themselves from any heat-related health problems due to the heat wave North Carolina is experiencing. With the early arrival of high temperatures, the National Weather Service has issued a heat advisory today and forecasts for high temperatures to continue for about a week.
