WILMINGTON, N.C. – One day after having junior pitcher Brad Holt selected with the 33rd pick overall by the New York Mets, UNC Wilmington produced three more draft selections as seniors Jason Appel, Daniel Hargrave (left) and Mark Carver all heard their names called during the second day of the Major League Baseball Draft.

WILMINGTON, N.C. – Melissa Jarrell’s seven-year stint as UNC Wilmington’s softball coach has ended after the veteran leader stepped down Friday. Jarrell, 44, took over the program in 2001-02 and piloted the Seahawks to a 149-250-1 mark. Her overall record stands at 349-482-3 over 16 seasons at three institutions.
