Newspapers across the country are struggling and the Star-News is no exception.

After the 35 years of working behind the scenes of Cape Fear Community College, the executive vice president is retiring.
Dan Hickman has served under the leadership of four CFCC presidents. Since 1974, Hickman held a wide variety of positions at the college, starting out as a class supervisor.
