The North Carolina Maritime Museum in Southport could be on the chopping block because of state budget cuts.
Museum supporters pleaded their case at last night's Board of Aldermen meeting. They want to house the museum in the city's parks and recreation building, and are asking the city to lease it to the state for one dollar a year, for ten years.

Senators RC Soles and Julia Boseman are pushing a bill to make North Carolina a little greener.
The senators support a pair of bills that would offer incentives to green builders in New Hanover, Brunswick, and Pender counties.

Today, the Cape Fear Museum honored the famous number pi.
Not pie that you eat, but the pi you learned about in math class; you know, the ratio of the circumference to the diameter of a circle which is about equal to 3.14.
