If you're planning on taking the Southport - Fort Fisher ferry this weekend, you may want to re-think your route. The DOT has suspended half of its runs while mechanics work on the engine of one of the two ferryboats.

The Wilmington Children's Museum was packed with kids who love to read on Saturday.
Children had a chance to play and interact at the annual Read to Me Festival, hosted by the Wilmington Junior League.

Spring is almost here and to prepare for it, the town of Leland gave away thousands of trees on Saturday.
There were lots of tree species to choose from and were given out free of charge, on a first come first serve basis.

Matthew Farr decided he would do a research project on the economy and it's effects on charity programs.
Saturday, he held a food drive at Lowes foods on North College Road to benefit Mother Hubbard’s Cupboard, a non-profit company that gives food to the needy.
