On Saturday South Stanly won 7-2 to claim the state championship. Summer camp vacanciesThe end of the school year is fast approaching, and it's around this time that parents start to wonder what to do with kids during the summer months. A new program that helps find lost children began Saturday in Carolina Beach.
Kids were seen wearing one of seven different colored wristbands. The color matches that of the nearest lifeguard stand. The goal is to help identify where lost children came from on the beach.

Carolina Beach goers were treated to the sweet sounds of summer Saturday for the annual Pleasure Island Beach Music Festival.
Five bands, from all over the South, got the crowd moving and shaking to hits from yesterday and today.
