The Leland 11-12 year old Dixie Youth Baseball team held a 7 run lead, but the Dixie Youth squad from South Carolina made a miraculous comeback to claim the Dixie title with a 12-9 victory.

The Topsail Pirates named Jeff Gainey as their new head basketball coach Thursday afternoon. Gainey is a former head coach at South View High School. Gainey replaces Rodney Orr.

Because there's no apparent crime here, investigators aren't releasing the names of the former suspects. No arrests were made.
