The Leland 11-12 year old Dixie Youth Baseball team held a 7 run lead, but the Dixie Youth squad from South Carolina made a miraculous comeback to claim the Dixie title with a 12-9 victory.

The Topsail Pirates named Jeff Gainey as their new head basketball coach Thursday afternoon. Gainey is a former head coach at South View High School. Gainey replaces Rodney Orr.

The State Department of Motor Vehicles has placed a Wilmington man under arrest.
Eddie Blocker was charged with thirteen felony counts for possession of stolen goods and altering a manufacturer's serial number.

Wilmington police are looking for a man who robbed the Chuck E. Cheese's on Oleander Drive.
It happened around 12:00 Thursday afternoon. Police say the robber approached the counter when no customers were around, told the clerk he had a gun, and demanded money.
