According to the investigation, in July, 2010, GOINS was
released from the North Carolina Department of Corrections. Five
days later GOINS was arrested for rape. While in custody, GOINS
admitted to possessing a Winchester, Model 1300 Ranger, .12 gauge
shotgun, two days earlier. Further investigation revealed the
firearm had been stolen.

Due to the weather-related school closings this week, the four comprehensive high schools - Ashley, Hoggard, Laney and New Hanover - will adjust their End-of-Course exams schedule. The exams were originally scheduled to begin this week. However, because students have missed three days of school this week, the district has decided to reschedule the exams for next week.
