UNC Wilmington and East Carolina used to play each twice a season when they were both members of the CAA. Now it's just a non-conference game, but it's a game the Seahawks won on Sunday. It was the first victory of the season for Cynthia Cooper-Dyke's squad.

A man was killed Saturday night in an apartment fire at 2114 Burnett Blvd. According to Battalion Chief David Hines, a spokesman from the Wilmington Fire Department, the victim was 62 year-old John Franklin Sutton.
