With Cyber Monday coming to a close tonight, local business owners are celebrating a weekend they say was the most profitable of 2011. They’re hoping this is just a preview of what they can expect for the rest of the holiday shopping season.

The holiday shopping frenzy continued today, but this time you didn't have to worry about the crowds. Online shopping is another way for retailers to cash in by offering one day only deals. It's known as Cyber Monday. Not to be outdone, local stores got in on the action.

An eight-year-old boy died Friday after a hunting accident in Bladen County. Family and friends gathered in Clinton for James Ethan Bartley's funeral today. Meanwhile, his friends at school mourned their classmate.
