Sen. Thom Goolsby says his plan to rename US 17 will not spend unnecessary money. Today Goolsby clarified his bill, which calls for $100,000 in DOT money to pay for new signs. The senator says the legislation will only replace signs that are in need of repair. Those signs would then have the name "US Marine Corps Highway."

The Seahawk men's golf team claimed two titles on Monday afternoon. Thomas Bass claimed the individual title with a one stroke victory. His final round helped vault UNCW to the team title as well.

Talk about bad luck. Not once, but twice. This is the second time in a two-year period that the Branch household on Dron Place in Wilmington has been hit by a car. The City of Wilmington and DOT have ignored their pleas. Maybe they will listen now.
