FIRST ON 3: Flip's sign can stay (for now) after city realizes mistake

videoThe owner of Flip's Bar-B-Que House on Oleander Drive received a notice from the city to take down his sign by tomorrow, but after we started making calls, the city says it made a mistake, and the sign can stay up a little longer.

video Many sweepstakes parlors left town after North Carolina banned them but those weren't the only businesses forced to close their doors. A ban on hookah bars left many business owners with nowhere to turn one couple is ignoring the ban and hoping for better luck in a new location.

ONLY ON 3: Goolsby says US 17 signs would replace old ones; DOT says probably not

Sen. Thom Goolsby says his plan to rename US 17 will not spend unnecessary money. Today Goolsby clarified his bill, which calls for $100,000 in DOT money to pay for new signs. The senator says the legislation will only replace signs that are in need of repair. Those signs would then have the name "US Marine Corps Highway."

UNCW men's golf team rallies to win Seahawk Invitational Tournament at CC of Landfall

The Seahawk men's golf team claimed two titles on Monday afternoon. Thomas Bass claimed the individual title with a one stroke victory. His final round helped vault UNCW to the team title as well.

A news conference was held Monday to announce goalie Brock Duckworth and striker Devan Carroll have each signed a contract with the Wilmington Hammerheads.

Free parking a thing of the past at Wrightsville Beach
