Blue Devils gain lead in second half for comeback victory over Tar Heels

They'll meet at least twice this season. In a meeting of nationally ranked ACC teams Duke beat North Carolina 79-73 on Wednesday night in Durham. Duke took the lead midway through the second half and the Heels never got it back.

video It probably doesn't feel like the baseball season to you, but it's going to be here sooner than you might think. UNCW will open the season at home on February 18th against Jacksonville University.

Sheriff McMahon will announce future of helicopter Thursday

The New Hanover County Sheriff’s Office would like to invite the media to a news conference concerning the Sheriff’s Helicopter, Sheriff’s Air One. Sheriff Ed McMahon will be meeting with the media to announce his plans for the helicopter and answer questions concerning the helicopter.

Azalea Festival leaders plan economic impact study

The Azalea Festival has commissioned a new economic impact study to be conducted on this year’s festival and that UNCW has agreed to take on the project. According to UNCW Professor Woody Hall, the festival brings in at least $7 million to the Wilmington area - reports the Greater Wilmington Business Journal.

The director of the Wilmington Regional Film Commission spent a recent week in Los Angeles gauging the interest of producers as TV pilot season gets under way - reports the Greater Wilmington Business Journal.
