The Raleigh forecast office says meteorologists around the state have confirmed that at least 28 tornadoes touched down across the state on Saturday.
The only other time where so many twisters landed in a single day was 1984, when about 22 tornadoes were confirmed.

I approached the vehicle and Frankie Jernigan and his wife, Danielle Jernigan were walking toward me from RC's driveway.
Frankie said that RC Soles had called him by phone and told him to meet him at his residence, but they were out of gas and were unable to leave.
Moments later, RC arrived and said he had not invited Frankie to his residence and that Frankie was not welcome there.
