The lease has been signed for a new Veterans Administration clinic in Brunswick County. Rep. Mike McIntyre says the VA will take possession of the site June 1. He says operations are scheduled to begin the first week of August.

Detectives say Dorothy Sowell had more than 60 grams of cocaine, digital scales, and packaging material valued at over $6000.00 in her car when they stopped her. Sowell was convicted of the charges on April 21 and was sentenced to community service and put on probation for two years. She will not serve any prison time.
