Today, business and community leaders attended the CFCC Foundation's annual Gift of Education fundraising luncheon. Organizers said the seventh annual event raised awareness of the importance of supporting and strengthening our state's community college system. Perhaps most importantly the event raised about $180,000.

Veterans in our area will get a couple of chances next week to get help with their health care. The VA's Rural Health Team is making two stops in our area to enroll veterans in the system, and provide health screenings and information.
