The UNC Wilmington will play Old Dominion on Friday evening in the CAA baseball tournament at 7pm. The loser will be eliminated from the double elimination tournament. ODU picked up their first tourney loss on Thursday. UNCW lost on Friday afternoon to JMU.

When wilmington city pools open this weekend, there's no need to worry about a nationwide recall of pool drains. A city spokeswoman says the pools are not affected by a voluntary recall by eight manufacturers including a North Carolina-based company.

Thanks to a grant from the Landfall Foundation the Children's Museum of Wilmington held the grand opening of the Forest Friends Toddler Treehouse this morning. Tots and families came together to test it out.

The unemployment rate in the Wilmington area dropped slightly last month. The rate was 9.5 percent in April, which kept pace with the state rate. Both were down two-tenths of a point from March.
