North Brunswick falls short in 2-A east finals

The season ended for the North Brunswick Scorpions on Saturday night. The Randleman Tigers beat North Brunswick to advance to the 2-A state championship next weekend.

Hammerheads earn draw against Pittsburgh

The Wilmington Hammerheads didn't get to play a complete 90 minutes on Friday night, but they did get to play a complete 90 minutes on Saturday night. Despite 90 minutes of play the Hammerheads couldn't score. The good news is Pittsburgh didn't score either.

Scouts honor fallen soldiers with flags

Thanks to Boy Scouts and Cub Scouts from around our area, more than 5,000 flags have been placed at the headstones of veterans in Wilmington National Cemetery.

SCC Rams lose first game in juco World Series

Western Oklahoma jumped out to an early five run advantage against Southeastern Community College on Saturday. The Rams caught up, but they never gained the lead. In order to win the national junior college division two world series the Southeastern CC Rams have to win five games in a row. If they lose again they'll be out of the tournament.
