video A Burgaw Middle School teacher has been suspended. The Pender County Sheriff's Office says eighth grade teacher Megan Mantooth is charged with cyberstalking a student.

Warren still at odds with fellow Brunswick Co. Commissioners

Brunswick County Commissioner Charles Warren was at Monday's commission meeting for the first time since he called an investigation of racial discrimination of sheriff's deputies and fellow commissioners.

Church van carrying children crashes, driver pronounced dead

Authorities say the driver of a church van carrying 13 children was killed after the van ran off the road and hit two utility poles Monday in Winston-Salem.

FIRST ON 3: Security ramped up at New Hanover Co. Commission Meeting

video New Hanover County Commissioners met today to discuss everything from the county budget to signs on Carolina Beach Road. One of the more interesting aspects of the meeting though was what it took to get in. There was additional security at the door and in the board room.

Last week, New Hanover County Commissioner Brian Berger told Angela Lilly he would have more details this week about his car insurance and how to move forward to fix her car. We spoke with Lilly late this afternoon. She says she has still not heard from Berger or his insurance company.

Commission plans hearing on decade-old sign law

Under the ordinance signs can be no longer than six feet high and 150 square feet. The sign ordinance was supposed to go into effect August 6, but commissioners requested a public hearing before the ordinance goes into place.

Commissioners pass New Hanover budget, reject ABC chief raise

New Hanover County Commissioners passed the FY2011-2012 budget today with a few tweaks, including a one percent merit pay increase for county employees. Commissioners also increased the budget for new hanover county schools by $1 million.
