videoThe Raleigh attorney and his wife who called out a New Hanover County Highway Patrol trooper in a letter to the governor are now speaking out on camera. Hoyt and Gina Tessener say they were in Wilmington last week for a conference. The attorney thought the trip would be like any other trip to the coast. Instead it became an experience that evoked fear and uncertainty.

WWAY has learned a foreign exchange student working at the restaurant may have tuberculosis. Now all employees there are being checked for the disease.

High school basketball teams continue to hoop it up in the summer

video Even though it's late June most high school athletes are not spending all of the waking hours at the beach surfing or swimming. If they want playing time on the basketball court this winter they're more than likely playing hoops even though it's the start of the high school basketball season is still five months away.

Severe weather causes commotion for drivers; no relief for wildfires

video Severe weather rolled into the region early Wednesday afternoon, flooding streets and cars across the Cape Fear. Although the area has been in a serious drought over the last couple of months, the instantaneous rush of water caused by the heavy rain overwhelmed the area.

Police looking for answers in death of former N.C. State basketball star

Raleigh police say they don't know why the charter bus driven by Lorenzo Charles crashed earlier this week, killing the North Carolina State University basketball star, and they're looking for witnesses to help.

FIRST ON 3: Frucci calling it quits; Coming home Thursday

Captain Greg Frucci has decided to throw in the towel and come home. The sailor had hoped to sail from Wrightsville Beach to Portugal, but hit heavy storms on the way which damaged his boat and scared him to death.

FIRST ON 3: Chance for "super-fog" tonight in Pender County

Today's storms coupled with the smoke from the wildfires in Pender County will most likely combine to create a "super-fog" tonight according to forecasters. Super-fog is a combination of smoke and water vapor that produces zero visibility over roadways.

NC beaches receive good marks in US Beach Report
