UNCW grad Sheila Boles was the first woman in North Carolina to coach a boys varsity basketball team. She won more than her fair share of games at Hoggard. As a result the pioneer coach is going to be inducted into the North Carolina High School Athletic Association Hall of Fame.

Wayne Williamson used to be the head football coach at West Columbus High School in Cerro Gordo. After coaching a few years in South Carolina the Evergreen resident will be roaming the sidelines in North Carolina once again.

A federal investigation is under way after pictures surfaced of rock stars with firearms in Rowan County. WSOC-TV in Charlotte has learned a former Rowan County police officer works with musicians like Tommy Lee of Motley Crue and Bret Michaels. WSOC received photos of the musicians at the Rowan County Peace Officers Association, where they were brought to fire guns.
