Old church gets new life as event space, skate park

video Wilmington is home to many historic buildings and churches, but only one also morphs into a skate park. The Brooklyn Arts Center is 123 years old and was brought back to life earlier this year. It seems the space has something for everyone, including skateboarders.

Saturday's legion baseball rained out in Whiteville

Saturday's baseball playoff game in Whiteville was postponed due to rain. Wilmington Post 10 and Whiteville Post 137 will now begin the best of five playoff series in Wilmington on Sunday.

FIRST ON 3 UPDATE: Trooper investigation results released; Wyrick cleared, Smith will be disciplined

video "During the course of the investigation, a number of discrepancies were discovered between what was alleged to have occurred and what we know occurred through witness accounts and other information. The information and evidence obtained during the investigation does not support Mr. Tessener's allegations. However, the investigation did show that Trooper Smith violated Patrol policy, and he will be disciplined accordingly," said Col. Gilchrist.

FIRST ON 3: UNCW cutting almost 150 jobs

video With a state budget finally approved, state universities will face cuts. The North Carolina system was hit hard with $414 million coming out of funding. Over the past three years, budget reductions for UNCW have totaled more than $31 million. This year's budget will see a nearly sixteen percent reduction.
