videoThe body of a Brunswick County woman found 11 years ago has finally been identified. Investigators in South Carolina say the remains they found more than a decade ago are Michelle Haggadon of Bolivia.

Bill to cap legislative terms may have to wait until November

The North Carolina General Assembly is cleaning up several laws approved this year before leaving town Wednesday, but a measure to let voters decide whether to cap time served by legislative leaders may have to wait.

District Court Judge Sandra Ray Criner says she will allow reporters into her courtroom during a protective order hearing Friday involving New Hanover County Commissioner Brian Berger. Cameras will not be allowed in.

Former Brunswick Co. Sheriff Hewett accused of threat

According to a Shallotte Police report a customer at Jones Ford, where Hewett is a salesman, claims the former lawman threatened him and showed a closed fist.

video To honor those who lost their lives on September 11, 2001, Jason and Jennifer Saucier hung an American flag outside of their business. Two days later, they came back to find their proud display of patriotism charred and smoldering on the ground.
