More than four months after a man was shot to death outside a Wilmington club, police have made an arrest for the crime. Garry Orlando Hines, 18, is charged with the first degree murder of Cornelius Tremayne Blanks, 20, of Burgaw.

After a small drop in July, unemployment is up again in the Wilmington metro area. The region's unemployment rate climbed to 10.5 percent in August. That's up from 10.2 percent in July after a drop from 10.4 percent in June. The Employment Security Commission says 18,744 are unemployed in our area.
