video On Thursday night WWAY went to Durham in order to check out Wake Forest center Ty Walker. The former New Hanover standout got his 13th career start on Thursday against the 4th ranked Duke Blue Devils. Click play video to check out the slam of the game. It's Ty Walker. On Thursday we also featured a one point win by the UNCW women's basketball team at Trask Coliseum. On top of that the Ashley girls basketball team won our team of the week award.

Public discusses how to alter downtown Wilmington sign regulations

FIRST ON 3: Leland Town Council reveals Chief Jayne placed on probation in Sept., forced to pay restitution

video During a meeting Thursday night, the Leland Town Council announced that Police Chief Tim Jayne has been on probation for months and ordered to pay restitution for use of a town vehicle.

FIRST ON 3: Occupy Wilmington holding funeral Friday

Occupy Wilmington will hold a funeral procession for “Corporate Personhood” tomorrow at noon. Bearing a coffin & dressed in black the silent march will carry the casket to the offices of Sen. Richard Burr and Rep. Mike McIntyre.

video The Wilmington of the future will look a little different than it does today. Two high-end businesses are coming, and it appears another well-known national chain wants to set up shop here. All this despite the state of the economy.

ONLY ON 3: Wilmington business closed in honor of Robert E. Lee's birthday

Many businesses and schools were closed in honor of Martin Luther King Jr. Day Monday. Today at least one Wilmington business was closed in remembrance of another American leader.
