Locals and visitors are making their way to Pleasure Island this weekend for the annual Seafood Blues and Jazz Festival. This year the festival welcomed iconic, Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee Gregg Allman to the stage. The great food and music attracted a sold out audience this year, and people seemed very satisfied.

The Cape Fear Heart Walk took place Saturday at University of North Carolina Wilmington. The walk is an annual fundraiser benefiting the American Heart Association in the Cape Fear region.

The Wilmington Railroad Museum hosts a Model Railroad Extravaganza this weekend. Miniature trains and landscapes fill an entire room of the museum. Guests can watch the model trains chug by, or even conduct these engines themselves.

Wilmington resident Jay Ross has been called up from the practice roster to the active roster of the Buffalo Bills. The New Hanover High graduate will be eligible to play in Sunday's game against the Arizona Cardinals. Ross has yet to play in a regular season NFL game.

Wilmington Police have arrested a man for a murder earlier this week. Investigators say Timothy Wayne Chinn, 43, was stabbed to death at a home in the 3600 block of Metting Road early Tuesday morning.

Four people are behind bars after two people were stabbed Friday night in Brunswick County, including a teenager.
Deputies were dispatched around 10:16 p.m. to 2157 Linda K. TR SW in Supply. When deputies arrived they found two people who had been stabbed.

The alma mater of fallen soldier Sgt. T.J. Butler honored his service and sacrifice by hosting a Military Appreciation Night at Friday's football game. Topsail High School in Hampstead encouraged fans to wear red, white and blue in Butler's memory.
