NC middle school crossing guard struck, killed

A crossing guard at an Iredell County middle school is dead after he was struck and killed by a car after classes had dismissed for the day. The Charlotte Observer reports that 59-year-old Frank Booth died Wednesday. The N.C. Highway Patrol said Booth was hit just after 3 p.m. in front of Mount Mourne Middle School. UNC-Chapel Hill adopts gender-neutral housing

Trustees of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill have endorsed a policy which will allow students to live in dorm suites and apartments with roommates of the opposite gender beginning next school year. The board of trustees unanimously endorsed Thursday "gender-neutral" housing.
