videoVeteran girls basketball coach Karlyn Stephens has resigned from East Columbus High School in order to accept a job at Southeastern Community College. Stephens will coach the softball team at SECC. She'll also be a physical education instructor. Monday was a light night for high school hoops, but we still managed to find action on the hardwood.

Man who took son from NC to Mexico gets 5 years

A man convicted of kidnapping his 2-year-old son from North Carolina and fleeing with him to Mexico six years ago is sentenced to between five and six years in prison.

Wake Forest U. awards $1M to study virtue, vice

A program at a private North Carolina university is giving nearly $1 million to more than a dozen theologians and philosophers in the U.S. and Great Britain who study the essence of human character. Wake Forest University said Monday the effort to better understand virtue and vice called The Character Project has awarded 16 grants to scholars.
