videoDue to the holidays, Friday night was a light night for high school basketball in our region. We did manage to find hoops in Wilmington and Hampstead, but it wasn't a good night for the home teams.

Holiday travel rush gets underway

All that's left now is the long ride home for the holidays. AAA says whether it's by train, plane, or automobile more than 93 million Americans are heading home for the holidays.

Community comes together to mourn loss of student

videoA week after 19-year-old CFCC student Josh Proutey was murdered in downtown Wilmington the community continues to mourn. Today, counselors offered their support at a public grief forum. Counselors hope this afternoon's forum will be the first step in the healing process.

Santa surprises sick kids at New Hanover Regional

videoThe holidays got a little brighter with a miracle on 17th street at New Hanover County Regional Hospital where sick kids were surprised by Mr. and Mrs. Claus. While other children are wondering what toys to add to their Christmas list, these kids just want to feel better. Santa helped grant that wish, if only for a short while.

McIntyre confident of fiscal cliff deal after Christmas

video Hours after House Speaker John Boehner's so-called "Plan B" to solve the fiscal cliff fell apart last night, Rep. Mike McIntyre (D-7th District) says he's confident a deal will be reached soon. McIntyre spoke to WWAY by phone this morning shortly after arriving home in North Carolina after the House recessed for Christmas.

Wave adding new route to Leland in February
