Just one day after Mandalay Baseball Properties and the Atlanta Braves announced they had secured private financing to build a new baseball stadium in Wilmington, City Manager Sterling Cheatham has drawn up a proposal to hire Ripken Design of Baltimore, MD, to manage the city's baseball project manager.

A group of protestors rallied near the airport this afternoon as advocates of the animals at the circus. They say the animals involved in the circus this weekend are constantly abused and mistreated. They want people to know that cruelty is not entertainment.

It looks like Wilmington City Council knows who it wants to lead its ballpark plan. The agenda for Tuesday night's City Council meeting includes two ordinances to hire and pay Ripken Design of Baltimore, MD.

Bladenboro police arrested Elijah Caval Davis, 20, of Lumberton and charged him with Attempted First Degree Murder. He is being held in the Bladen county jail under a $250,000 secured bond.

The Bladen County Sheriff's Office says Daniel Trey Horne, 24, of 33 Rosemont Lane Clarkton was arrested and charged with impersonating an EMS employee on March 23rd.
