What started as a small fire grew to about 60 acres, causing evacuations and damaging three homes.
The Wilmington Fire department rolled out with all they had and thanks to an array of resources they knew where to take the fight.

It was a scary afternoon for many in Wilmington, as they watched smoke fill the sky, not knowing if the fire would engulf their homes. Luckily, only a few houses were damaged and no people were injured.

UNCW students held a silent protest this afternoon against the sale of some controversial t-shirts.
The UNCW Women's Studies Department and the university's LGBTQIA Resource Office held a panel today selling shirts for $15 that read "I had an abortion."

The City of Wilmington may strike out when it comes to selecting Ripken Design as the project manager for the proposed ballpark.
The project manager would evaluate the feasibility of building a baseball stadium. But a couple of council members have some serious questions.
