New CFCC women's basketball team announces charter class

video Recycling bins or spy gear? As we told you last week, the City of Wilmington plans to replace its small recycling bins with much larger ones. The new bins will come with a radio frequency identification chip. If you don't recycle, could the ID chips let the City of Wilmington know? And could that lead to a fine?

Law enforcement warns about synthetic drug "Pump-It"

Law enforcement is warning of another synthetic drug on the streets of Wilmington. The New Hanover County Sheriff's Office and the Wilmington Police Department joint Downtown Task Force encountered Pump-It this weekend.

DOT awards contract for bridges in Brunswick, Pender

The North Carolina Department of Transportation has awarded a contract to replace seven bridges in Brunswick County and two bridges in Pender County. The $8.3 million contract went to S.T. Wooten Corp. of Wilson. Work may begin as early as April 30, with project completion due by Nov. 1, 2015.
