WPD officers awarded medal of valor

Several Wilmington police officers were recognized for their on-duty actions. Officer Fred Clark, Corporal Robert Perozzi, Officer Frank Childers and Officer Adam Lewis were presented Tuesday night with the Medal of Valor as a result of bravery and placing their own lives at risk.

City council unanimously approved a fee for runners who participate in city races. It also approved a fee schedule.

Ballpark may go on November ballot, Mandalay says private financing is now off the table

video The City continues to slide closer to building a ballpark and bringing a minor league team to the Port City. Wilmington City Council voted Tuesday night to continue negotiations with Mandalay Baseball and the Atlanta braves for another six months.

The Wilmington Sharks got back into the win column on Tuesday. We've got a complete game recap along with highlights on that. In the NBA Miami has a 3-1 lead now in the NBA best of seven finals.

The ABC affiliate in Nashville, WKRN, is reporting emergency crews were called to the scene of an explosion during a sheriff's convention at the Opryland Hotel.
