On Wednesday the UNCW men's basketball team received news it didn't want to hear. The UNCW men’s basketball team will not be allowed to compete in postseason play in the 2012-13 season due to low Academic Progress Rate (APR) scores. The NCAA made that announcement on Wednesday.

Compensation for victims of the North Carolina eugenics program was cut from next year’s budget. Victims of forced sterilization were supposed to get $50,000 each after a panel approved a $10 million compensation package.
