NC taking info again about sterilization victims

A North Carolina government office will continue to verify additional victims of the state's defunct forced sterilization program even though legislators failed to set aside money to compensate those who are still alive.

Leland approves offering services to three neighboring towns

video Leland Town Council passed an agreement Thursday night to extend services to Belville, Navassa and Sandy Creek. They agreed to offer both animal control and building inspection services to the three Brunswick County towns if they choose to accept.

video The City of Wilmington's talks with Mandalay and the Atlanta Braves are done for the week, but there is still no deal for the proposed ballpark. With an August 7 deadline looming, Councilman Kevin O'Grady says there is still a lot to work out.
