It's official, Andy Reid is the new head coach of the Kansas City Chiefs. The Buffalo Bills have a new head coach too.

Alabama rolls over Fighting Irish for BCS title

There was plenty of hype, but only one team played up to the billing. Alabama crushed Notre Dame on Monday night to win the BCS national championship football game in Miami.

New Hanover Co. Commission has plan for funding elementary school deputies

2 killed, 2 wounded in Greensboro shooting

Police say two people have been killed and two others seriously injured in a shooting in Greensboro. Police spokeswoman Susan Danielsen says officers were called to a house near the airport shortly before 8 a.m. Monday.

Former NC insurance commissioner Ingram dies at 83

John Ingram, former North Carolina insurance commissioner who made runs for governor and the U.S. Senate, has died. He was 83. Charles Brown said his brother-in-law died at his Myrtle Beach home Sunday after suffering a heart attack.

Building History: Winnie's Tavern

video It's a landmark down by the dock, with trucks, trains and ships there are plenty of hungry people, at lunch time they head to Winnie’s tavern. This isn't Winnie although a lot of people think she is. Jeannie Johnson has run the tavern for a while.

Wait continues for missing Alma Lawson's family

video After months of searching for missing 83-year-old Alma Lawson, Wilmington Police uncovered human remains in the Love Grove community Friday. Today, an autopsy was set to be performed as Lawson's family anxiously waits for answers. After months of questions, they are no closer to any answers.
