2 die in Gastonia house fire

Two people have been killed in a house fire in Gastonia. Firefighters were called to the home early Monday. Gastonia police said the victims were 78-year-old Ernest Adams and 57-year-old Angela Smith Wilson.

Monday marked the first night of conference tournament play in high school basketball. Player of the week honors for CAA basketball go to two different UNCW players: Keith Rendleman and Karneshia Garrett.

Fire on the Dock cooking competition returns to Wrightsville

video Fire on the Dock is back for its second year. Billed as competition dining, patrons vote on courses served and the winner advances. The venue this year for the popular cooking competition is Bluewater Grill on the intracoastal in Wrightsville Beach. Sixteen restaurants face off through April 3.

Family not happy about plea deal for man who killed their daughter

video Nearly three years after he was charged with killing a Brunswick County woman in a car crash, a Pender County man reached a deal with prosecutors. Kim and Ray Heath are still trying to heal after the death of their 23-year-old daughter Stephanie. Today's plea deal did not help.
