New Gov. Pat McCrory is expected to address the North Carolina General Assembly for his State of the State address later this month.
Senate Republicans filed a resolution Monday inviting McCrory to speak to a joint session of the House and Senate at 7 p.m. Feb. 18 in the House chamber.

A fourth inmate has been charged with the assault of a fellow inmate last month at the Bladen County Jail.
David Wilson Gilchrist, 18, of Elizabethtown, is charged with assault inflicting serious bodily injury and second degree kidnapping.
